The 1st annual Genoa Cowboy Poetry & Music Festival will take place on April 29 – May 2 in Genoa, NV. The event, presented by the Carson Valley Arts Council and the Town of Genoa, will feature nationally known Cowboy poets and musicians including Waddie Mitchell, Don Edwards, Paul Zarzyski, Lacy J. Dalton, David John and the Comstock Cowboys. Cowboy dinners, a Pleasure Trail Ride and a tour of a working ranch will also be offered.
One and two day passes will allow admission into over 80 non-ticketed events and Western workshops and demonstrations presented by talented artists. You could meet Mark Twain, Wyatt Earp and Snowshoe Thompson. Learn how to write Cowboy poetry and join Lacy J. Dalton and the “Let ‘em Run” Foundation in a discussion about wild horses in Nevada.
Watch demonstrations on Dutch oven cooking, leather tooling, saddlery, silversmithing, Cowboy gear and blacksmithing. Purchase Cowboy gear and souvenirs at the Cowboy Gift Shop. All of this will take place in the authentic and historic town of Genoa, the oldest settlement in Nevada!
